Autoimmune Diseases

                      Health Care  & Disease Control

Definition
Autoimmune Diseases are a group of otherwise unrelated disorders that are caused by the inflammation and destruction of tissues within the body by the body's own antibodies (auto-antibodies) and T-Lymphocytes.

Autoimmune diseases are complicated by auto-antibody formation (remembered immunity) and the disorder is therefore considered a permanent degenerative disease.  Since it appears true that auto-antibodies cannot be totally eliminated, even by dialysis, the focus of therapy should be on reducing the circulating levels of auto-antibodies and inhibiting the inflammatory cascade caused by antibodies binding to "self antigens".

Due to the permanent nature of autoimmune disease, long-term therapy is mandatory to maintain and, as far as possible, optimise the quality of life. Therapy is multifactoral and wholistic including reducing exposure to toxic substances, utilising-non-toxic therapeutics to avoid long-term side effects (iatrogenic) that may rival the illness in their degenerative effects. Optimising cellular nutrition (molecular biochemistry) offers by far the best opportunity to halt or at least slow the degenerative progression and inflammation of autoimmune diseases without adverse side effects.

The biological approach to the successful treatment focuses on six fundamental biotherapies:
1. Antigen reduction (reducing circulating antibodies)
2. Reduction of inflammation
3. Tissue repair & maintenance of tissue integrity
4. Phenolic Desensitisation
5.Identification of Lectin (food borne) antibodies, food and substance          sensitivities
6. Predictive-Preventive Stategies

Some evidence strongly suggests that Autoimmune Diseases are the result of Hydrolases escaping from Lysosomes whose membranes have been ruptured by Lipid Peroxidation and other causes - these Hydrolases then combine with and denature normal endogenous Proteins (in effect, converting them into Antigens) - to which the body reacts by producing Antibodies.

Ailments that are due to a compromised Immune System.

Many ailments whose symptoms affect other body systems are attributable to a suppressed or over-active Immune System.

Proven protocols are established to implement and sustain the above regimen.
First Line Therapy always addresses inflammation, proven an integral part of all autoimmune diseases, and for that matter almost all illness conditions. See ProResolvin & Magnesium Chloride

A Health Assessment (Comprehensive) is mandatory to establish individual organ/tissue integrity, thus ensuring problem specific therapeutics, preventive strategies and importantly by repeat assessment, patient progress.
