AGING Process

There are several hypothesis related to the aging process. Each has merit and almost beyond doubt aging is due to a multiplicity of factors. However some, if not all, are beyond the control of the individual and it is for this reason that we deal with the known factors which are controllable by the individual.

First, the environmental theory of aging links the aging process to a combination of life-style factors including: inadequate dietary and nutritional intake diet, a lack of effective exercise, rest and relaxation together with exposure to environmental toxins.

Next, we have the very important free radical theory of aging which links the cumulative effects of free radical generation and in particular free radical-induced damage to the mitochondria of the cells to the progression of aging at the cellular level.

Obviously by optimising diet/nutrition and life-style the individual assumes control of his/her individual biochemistry with consequent deceleration of cellular aging and the important benefit of increasing the bodies cellular resistance to disease. This is the very concept on which Biological Medicine is founded.

Accelerating Factors
There exist four factors proven to accelerate the aging process :

                                                                                                Excess Insulin
                                                                                                Excess Blood Glucose
                                                                                                Excess Free Radicals
                                                                                                Excess Cortisol

All of these factors can be controlled simply and effectively by diligent application of the 40:30:30 dietary intake plus supplementation of problem-specific formulae and other substances endogenous to the human body, but which reduce in quantity and quality as we age, especially from about age thirty years. Chief among these substances are Coenzyme Q10, Lipoic Acid, Glutathione, Human Growth Hormone and Melatonin. Exogenous substances include, but are not confined to, Beta-carotene; Chromium; Whey Protein; and the vitamins Nicotinic Acid; B5; C. and E.

It is also well documented that under-consumption of foods slows the aging process.
