KIDNEY       Health Care & Disease Control

The process of living, breaking down food and building up muscle tissues, produces a variety of metabolic wastes. Some of them you breathe out (carbon dioxide), some are eliminated through the skin as sweat, and others are excreted through the urological system in the urine.

These waste products, if not eliminated properly, can become toxic and cause you considerable harm.

The urological system is made up of the kidneys (two organs on either side of your spine and slightly above your waist) and the urinary bladder.
The Adrenal Cortex is located on the kidney. The kidneys help to regulate blood pressure and monitor the quality of blood so that the body is not
poisoned by the end-products of its own metabolism and the proper volume and composition of its body fluids is maintained.
Approximately 25% of the blood pumped by the heart each minute is filtered by the kidneys and toxins are excreted from the body via this filtration mechanism (via Urine).

- Aluminium is excreted from the body via the Kidneys.
- Nitrogen waste products (Ammonia) are excreted from the body via the Kidneys.
- Excess Sodium is excreted from the body via the Kidneys.
- Urea is excreted from the body via the Kidneys.
- Uric Acid is excreted from the body via the Kidneys.
- Excess Water is excreted from the body via the Kidneys.

The Kidneys are responsible for the continual production of Urine that contains the waste products filtered by the kidney, which is the primary organ responsible for the body's Water Balance.

Kidney disorders are many and varied, and many and varied nutrients, especially magnesium are involved in kidney function. Metagenics "Renagen Intensive Care" is specifically formulated to assist with occlusion and/or inflammation. Diet is of course very important especially when protein is showing in the urine. see Renagen
